APS HUPO 2026 TRAVEL AWARDS
APS is offering travel awards to support members attending the HUPO 2026 World Congress in Singapore (27 September – 1 October 2026).
Key Dates
AHUPO award deadline for students/ECRs: 24 April 2026
Early bird registration: 19 June 2026
APS award application deadline for MCRs: 29 May 2026
Student Members and ECRs (via HUPO website)
Supervisor support statement required
ECRs ≤5 years post-PhD
Total award value: $1,000 AUD
Attendance at minimum 1 Lorne/APS Proteomics Meeting in the past 2 years (2025–2026)
MCR Members (via APS application)
5–15 years post-PhD (career disruptions considered)
Total award value: $1,500 AUD
Attendance at minimum 2 Lorne/APS Proteomics Meetings in the past 3 years (2024–2026)
Submission Requirements
Curriculum Vitae (max. 2 pages): Outline your academic and professional background
Proof of Status: University letter, supervisor statement, or employment verification (For direct HUPO submissions only)
Evidence of attendance at Lorne/APS Proteomics Meetings (as outlined above)
Conditions of Award
Proof of current APS membership
Submitted abstract + proof of submission
Maximum of 2 awards per laboratory
Applicants must reside in Australia or New Zealand
Proof of abstract acceptance and HUPO registration required
Submission of a post-meeting report (including presentation photo)
Attendance at the next APS Annual Conference (Joint APS–AO HUPO 2027)
Preference will be given to applicants who have not received a travel award in the past 2 years

KEN MITCHELHILL YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD

Contributions to training the next-generation of proteomic researchers

Early postdoctoral career researchers (within 5 years of PhD completion)

Eligibility Criteria

Narrative addressing the assessment criteria including a statement summarising your 5-year career objective and how this award contributes to it (max. 2 pages, pdf format)

Assessment criteria
Quality and breadth of scientific contributions to proteome sciences
Evidence of growing leadership activities relevant to proteome science

Proof of minimum 3 years of APS membership
Applicants must reside in Australia or New Zealand
Researches with 7 to 15 years post-PhD experience
3-year gap since receiving past APS career recognition awards (e.g. Ken Mitchellhill Award)
